The Poncho That Started It All
For my niece Athena Rose's birthday, I crocheted her a colorful poncho and a tiny axolotl. As I stitched each row, I found myself weaving in wishes — courage, kindness, calm, imagination, and unconditional love.
I wanted the gifts to be more than something she could wear or hold. I wanted them to become a reminder that she is deeply loved.
